PUPILS AND TEACHERS OF OOLA NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL PROVIDED WITH EDUCATION ON ELECTRICITY INFRASTRUCTURE SAFETY, PROTECTION, AND CLEAN COOKING ENERGY.
The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), Arusha Region, has continued its campaign to provide education to pupils and teachers of Oola Nursery and Primary School located in Kigongoni, Karatu District, regarding the safety and protection of electricity infrastructure as well as the use of clean cooking energy.
Speaking during the visit, the Public Relations and Customer Service Officer for TANESCO Karatu District, Ms. Mariam Dahal, stated that the education aims to build a generation that recognizes the value of electricity infrastructure and the dangers of damaging it.
"We want our students to be the first ambassadors for the protection of electricity infrastructure at home and at school. Touching fallen wires, playing near transformers, or throwing objects onto power lines poses a severe danger that can cause death. We are teaching them the proper and safe ways to use electricity to avoid accidents," Ms. Mariam emphasized.
On his part, a technical expert from TANESCO Karatu District, Mr. Ludovic Munisi, had the opportunity to answer various questions from the pupils and teachers, while urging them to take extra precautions during this rainy season.
"As we enter the rainy season, caution is of the utmost importance. Avoid standing under electricity poles during rain, do not step in puddles surrounding electrical wires, and report any faults to TANESCO immediately upon noticing them. Your safety is our priority," said Mr. Munisi.
